GUEST LIST FULL |DON GALLARDO | Saturday 24 March 2018

Don Gallardo has called Nashville home for 10 years, but his California roots shine through on current LP, STILL HERE.  Gallardo weaves his 1970’s Laurel Canyon influences into a modern roots-Americana epic. Backed by Nashville Legendary musicians Dave Roe on Bass (Johnny Cash, Sturgill Simpson), Bryan Owings on drums (Emmylou Harris, Buddy Miller), Micah Hulscher on organ/piano (Margo Price), Richard Bailey on banjo (The Steeldrivers), Joe Andrews on mandolin (Old Crow Medicine Show) and guitar legend Brent Mason, and with co-writes by the likes of Mando Saenz, Carey Ott, Tim Easton, & Robby Hecht.  Don has got his heart in the East Nashville sound but his California roots are never far away.

Gallardo’s last album HICKORY received high marks: The Telegraph called Hickory, released in the UK by Clubhouse Records,  “One of the Best Country Music Albums of 2015” along with Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton, Patty Griffin, Justin Townes Earle, & more. MOJO Magazine gave Hickory “4 Stars” and in 2016 Rolling Stone calls Gallardo “A singer-songwriter that is one of the Country and Americana scene's true journeymen.”

An enchanting singer-songwriter, guitarist and storyteller with pure and haunting vocals. Destined for great things in the world of Americana.

GUEST LIST FULL Hannah Rose Platt, Saturday 01 October 2016. An enchanting singer-songwriter, guitarist and storyteller with pure and haunting vocals. Platt is an artist destined for great things in the world of Americana.

She recorded her debut album Portraits in Nashville  (produced by herself and Michael Bonagura) where she worked with some of the industry’s leading names including Grammy award-winning musicians Mark Fain, (Ricky SkaggsDolly Parton), Stuart Duncan (Emmylou HarrisDolly PartonThe Nashville Bluegrass BandRobert Plant & Alison Krauss) and Jeff Taylor (The Time JumpersElvis Costello).

Her melodic, poetic and accessible music offers self-written narratives to ordinary people who had no one to unfurl their stories; tales of luck, stoicism, loneliness, love, heartbreak and hope. While avoiding clichés, she warmly builds characters like an author, penning songs that almost eavesdrop on other people’s lives.

1954 is told through the eyes of an elderly woman suffering from dementia who waits every night for her husband to pick her up as she recalls their first date, while Birthday Card is a tender letter from a mother written to her daughter from prison.

Lyrics are the mainstay of her work, while subtle acoustic arrangements and beautiful guitar hooks form an uplifting backdrop. Hannah’s stories get under your skin…she plays with sentiment without being saccharine, focusing on optimism infused with realism and honesty.

British Singer/Songwriter, Steve Young’s music, has been described as “Acoustic Pop/Rock with a Country Twang” and a voice noted as “Powerful & Incredible” by some of the industry’s leading protagonists. His career as a session guitarist began in earnest after TV appearances with Lionel Richie resulted in getting fired from his day job for faking illness – his boss saw him on the Graham Norton show that same day.
