Originally from Lincolnshire Callaghan moved to the USA in summer 2010 to record and tour with Grammy-Nominee Shawn Mullins, since then she's been performing and winning fans all across the USA.
Back home in the UK the BBC's Bob Harris has been a strong supporter regularly playing her music and describing her as "a wonderful artist...hugely talented". BBC Radio 2 have also given strong support play listing three singles Best Year, We Don't Have to Change The World and Last Song, from her most recent studio album A History of Now.
Callaghan plays piano and guitar and delivers a stunning vocal which earns frequent comparisons with artists like Sarah McLachlan and Emmy Lou Harris. Her songwriting chronicles the stories, experiences and emotions which are part of everyone’s lives.
A long-time Shawn Mullins fan, she contacted the Atlanta singer-songwriter through MySpace and, after being knocked out by her music, he agreed to produce her debut album. Callaghan jumped on a plane headed for Atlanta.
Since then she's been constantly on the road touring across 47 states and clocking up over a quarter of a million tour miles on Wilson her 21 year old Toyota. She's now a headliner in multiple US cities. The US music magazine No Depression says of her live show "Callaghan's voice truly sets her music apart...nothing short of stunning".
Over the last two years she’s played live on Clare Balding's Good Morning Sunday on Radio 2, with Gaby Roslin and Robert Elms on BBC London, and on regional radio across the UK. She's also appeared at festivals including the Secret Garden Party, SummerTyne, Celtic Connections, Cornbury and the Cambridge Folk Fest.
The latest chapter of Callaghan's US journey has taken her to LA to collaborate with Jeff Fair & Starr Parodi producers who have worked at the pinnacle of the movie soundtrack industry on Mission Impossible and Bond Movies, and Anthony Resta who has previously produced Blondie, Duran Duran and Elton John.
Her latest EP The Other Side offers listeners a blend of soaring vocals, epic production and emotional lyrics. Two further EPs are being written and recorded in LA and will release between now and Callaghan’s April tour.

Barbara Nesbitt, a Georgia native, has found her home in music. Her life is reflected in the songs she writes which are about the ways, large and small, we abandon and seek that elusive safety of home.
She has recently sung back-ups for Willie Nelson and Bob Weir and in the last few years she has performed/recorded with Berkley Hart, Tim Flannery, Dennis Caplinger, Freebo, Marc Ford, Cathryn Beeks Ordeal, Doug Pettibone, Gregory Page and many more. She has shared the stage / opened for artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Lyle Lovett, Robert Earl Keene, Lisa Loeb, Hootie & The Blowfish, Meredith Brooks, Nickel Creek, Jerry Garcia Band, Keller Williams, Widespread Panic,and more.
Her second album, The Bees, was released in January, 2011. It was produced by Jeff Berkley (Berkley Hart Selis Twang), and features Mike Spurgat, Bill Coomes, Marcia Claire, Doug Pettibone, and Dennis Caplinger.
She relocated to Austin Texas in 2011 and has quickly become a fixture in the world renowned music scene there. She helped form the band, The Whiskey Sisters, who have recorded, toured internationally and seen much success, buzz and press and has placed in the Austin Music Awards in the top 10 acoustic guitar players, top 3 singers, and top 3 songwriters.
Her third solo album, Almost Home, was released in August 2013, and features such talents as, Jeff Berkley, Marcia Claire, Mike Spurgat, Bill Coomes, Bukka Allen, Dennis Caplinger, Kim DesChamps, and Kyle Clayton.
Currently, she is dividing her time between singing/touring with Tim Flannery & The Lunatic Fringe and her ‘solo’ project simply called Barbara Nesbitt. Her new album, Right As Rain, was released in 2017 and placed in the top ten female vocalists in the 2017 Austin Music Awards.
She will be an Official Showcasing Artist at SXSW 2018 and heads out to tour Europe in the spring!
