ANNE McCUE + BELLE ROSCOE

A return visit for international singer/songwriter Anne McCue fills us all with excitement and anticipation. Worldwide accolades include the legendary Lucinda Williams ‘my new favourite artist….and an amazing guitarist’ and Bob Harris who had the 2004 album ROLL as his record of the year.
We’ve been big fans since the late 90s so were more than thrilled to be closely involved with Anne’s first UK visit in more than ten years as part of a worldwide tour and appearance at LRB in 2015.
Anyone fortunate enough to see Anne McCue last year will know this is not hype. Her world tour continues….it has taken her onto three different continents and many shows since visiting LRB last July.
The recent visit to LRB by Janet Robin, saw her play an acoustic version of Driving Down Alvarado as a special request from LRB and tribute to long-time friend Anne McCue who wrote the song that JR played a guitar part on.
Her 6th studio album – BLUE SKY THINKING was released in 2015. The album reunites the band from her critically acclaimed Roll album and allows Anne to explore some of her favourite influences, including Billy Holiday, Charlie Christian, Howlin’ Wolf, Memphis Minnie, Astor Piazzola, Peggy Lee, Irving Berlin, Django Reinhardt, Hoagy Carmichael, Bessie Smith…
She is a potent singer, thoughtful songwriter and tough guitarist.
BELLE ROSCOE
With their new wave indie rock sound this independent and international band, hailing from Melbourne, Australia has been building a solid underground buzz in Europe and Australia. Led by siblings Matty & Julia Gurry, Belle Roscoe spent time in Europe defining their sound & collaborating with European musicians and renowned DJ producer Luuk Cox (Shameboy, Girls in Hawaii, Stromae, & MLCD). The band have recently worked with legendary US producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, The Shins, Paper Kites). Refreshingly cool & epic indie melodies married with an underground contemporary electronic world are the result.
Belle Roscoe are the first Australian band in history to be invited to close Cannes Film Festival playing to an audience of 45,000.
Recently back from Nashville where they teamed up with Anne McCue’s band to perform a number of prestigious shows.

A third visit to LRB and first with the full band for big voice, big personality and big talent Lauren Housley. A tingle of excitement already.
MEGAN O’NEILL
Originally from County Kildare, Ireland, Megan O’Neill is one of the most exciting new entrants to the world of country pop music. A previous UCD Choral Scholar and long-time musician and song-writer, Megan is no stranger to the world of performing arts and has been working hard to hone her craft since moving from Ireland to Nashville in 2012
Megan’s music is a fresh mix of modern country and pop, with a fusion of distinctly Irish elements making for a very unique sound. Currently based in London, Megan has written with many notable Nashville writers such as Marc Beeson, Billy Austin, John Edwards, Brian Maher, Erik Halbig, Bruce Bouton, Mark Narmore and countless others.
