GUEST LIST FULL Doors 19:00 Live 19:15

LAUREN HOUSLEY Trio | Saturday 02 March 2019 | Delighted to welcome hugely popular Lauren for a fourth visit  with her superb band, featuring Thomas Dibb and Mark Lewis.

“An Americana-tinged singer-songwriter with a Bonnie Raitt-style twang, a winning way with a yearning lyrics. Housley is her own woman and when she turns glacially emotional on When Autumn Came, she’s as convincing as they come…. Sweet Surrender (album) smoulders.”

    Blues and Soul Magazine, 08/15

“With “Sweet Surrender” Lauren Housley proves that she has the potential to create music that crosses the genre boundaries of Soul, Blues and Country while being appreciated by mainstream audiences and all the demographics in between. 8/10

Winner Best New Zealand Country Music Artist/Album 2018 and Best Country Music Song 2018 HOPEFUL & HOPELESS

Reb writes and sings as if she just burst into song telling tales woven together; multiple stories running through, often concurrently, creating a landscape rich, diverse and universal.  Her recently released EP Hopeful & Hopeless revealed her mastery of the folk tale.  Little Arrows contains both folklore and pop; illuminating all sides of Reb – the dark the light, the rock, the roll; the folk and the lore that awashes between.

Her music is no prisoners tough yet also giving and with enough play that it will turn hardened cynics burnt out on the in genuine machine that spits out beautiful girls with acoustic guitars almost hourly into believing in the power of songs again. Simply because if there was a deal Reb’d be the real one. It probably ain’t gonna make her rich, or number one, but the world needs her like it needs every sighing messenger, it needs her because we need her. Thing is Reb and her songs don’t need us, she sings them and they exist because they have to, because they were meant to, they are elemental in size as much as they are heart ready in tone. That’s why when you get to see her onstage, you feel lucky, like you’re in on a secret, like you’ve got something the world is yet to figure on. That’s why she makes you feel important, like you mean something. It’s like her heart through those songs lifts you up. Damn it, how many times do you get to say that a songwriter is generous and not vain or self obsessed? Rarely. Reb is a rare one. We are lucky to have her.!

Cheley's latest album, Buckeye, was given a 4 out of 5 star rating in the March 2018 edition of the UK's Country Music People and Think Country UK said, "if this amazing singer-songwriter hits your town, GO!!!!
