CARTER SAMPSON band show + CALLAGHAN

    GUEST LIST FULL | Doors 18:45 | Live 19:15 | Finish 10:45

Oklahoma is a hotbed of good music and no-one knows that better than the self-crowned ‘Queen of Oklahoma’ Carter Sampson, who will be touring the UK with her full band from 28 Feb to 16 March 2025.

Born and raised in the central state, Sampson writes relatable and honest songs about family, love, life and historical characters. She’s released six albums with her two latest records being released on the influential Horton record label. Her last album, Gold, spent many months on the Americana Music Charts.

She tours internationally, and has had much success playing regularly in Europe and the UK:

I really love playing in the UK. I joke about it a lot but American audiences are generally loud and don’t listen very well – English audiences are so quiet and kind.’

Carter won first place in the Chris Austin Songwriting contest at Merlefest, NC, and has performed at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Rocky Mountain Folks Fest and the Lincoln Center in NYC as a top finalist in their respective songwriting contests.

Carter is also the founder and director of The Rock and Roll Camp for Girls OKC, a non-profit organisation set up in Oklahoma that empowers girls, women and non-binary folks through music education.

As she describes it: ‘Most of our campers have no or little musical experience and it is truly amazing what these kids achieve in one week. The amount of self-esteem that comes from such an accomplishment is really what it’s all about.’

Carter is recording her first solo live album at The Blue Door listening room in Oklahoma City this November – the album will be her seventh, and will be released in January 2025, two months before her UK tour starts.

Sampson’s high-quality songwriting and gorgeous vocals show she can now be talked about as being one of the very best around. If Wilder Side sowed the seeds, her tremendous new album Gold brings that talent into full bloomAmericanarootsuk.com

Sampson sings from the heart. Nothing is sugar coated. She's as real as her red dirt roots or the red cowboy boots that she proudly wears’ Country Standard Time

Sampson deserves all the success that will continue to come her way’ No Depression

Really, really special songs; songs that are capable of lifting Ms Sampson to the next level Rocking Magpie

Heartfelt, sincere, and honest. There’s an inherent happiness that populates a Carter Sampson record and it’s something I’ve truly come to look forward to with each album she’s released’ Americana Highways

    STEPHANIE LAMBRING

    Doors 18:45 | Live 19:15 | Finish 10:45

STEPHANIE LAMBRING | Saturday 19 April 2025 | big welcome for one of Nashville's Music Row finest writers. Own release, 2020 album Autonomy was a critical smash, prompting Rolling Stone to hail her “John Prine-esque observation” and NPR to declare her “one of Nashville’s most fearless young singer-songwriters.” Follow up album Hypocrite, is a remarkable work of self-reflection that finds comfort in facing the uncomfortable head-on. The arrangements are lush and hypnotic, and the writing is as raw and vulnerable as it gets, confronting everything from religion and trauma to body image and motherhood with unflinching honesty.

LAUREN HOUSLEY AND THE NORTHERN COWBOYS

    GUEST LIST FULL | Doors 18:45 | Live 19:15 | Finish 10:45

LAUREN HOUSLEY AND THE NORTHERN COWBOYS | Saturday 31 May 2025

Lauren Housley, is an award-winning singer and songwriter hailing from Yorkshire and a young female artist and recent mother of two who has already made her mark with three independent albums and two BBC Radio playlist hit singles. Housley’s innate talent of writing beautiful, engaging songs, was born from the intuitive craft of earthy storytelling and delivered with an emotive knock out vocal performance at their core.

Early 2022, she decided to focus on developing her live show and going full tilt with the addition of The Northern Cowboys to being a 6 piece with key members Thomas Dibb and Mark Lewis. The Live Band rapidly developed into a recording and performance led music outfit with a new sonic departure, garnering two nominations at the 2024 UK Americana Music Awards for her song High Time” (WON) and Live Act Of The Year. On 23rd September 2023 The Band played the finale set for the Thirty Tigers Gospel Brunch as part of AmericanaFest in Nashville, drafting in local musicians Jeff Coffin on Sax (Dave Matthews Band), Andrew Golden on Trumpet (Lauren Daigle) and Drummer Chris Brice (Meg McRee, Fancy Hagood). Following this triumphant return to Nashville, the band have been invited to play the prestigious music showcase and film festival SXSW in March 2024, Austin, TX.

Housley will be leaving a trail of joy with her ‘Rousing’ new shows,  introducing songs from the next release as Lauren Housley and The Northern Cowboys and some classics.  Influential Blog, Holler’ included the band in their TOP 10 artists seen at the Black Deer Festival 2023 whilst others witnessing the band referenced the performance as a UK female vocal fronted version of Nathaniel Rateliff & The Nightsweats  -  be prepared to be uplifted and moving those hips and leaving with some lyrics to think about.

Housley's first three albums, Sweet Surrender in 2015, The Beauty of This Life in 2017 and current album ‘Girl From the North 2021, which was produced a fresh and eclectic sound around the central theme of one rediscovering herself and her roots: "To move forward we sometimes have to go back. I wanted to prove to myself that it doesn't matter where you are in the world, you can make great music." Lauren confides, "Returning to my hometown of Rotherham a few years ago, after leaving at the age of 18, seemed like the most bizarre decision I'd ever made. It was never part of my 'plan' but it has in fact enabled me to reassess my life and career goals and move forward in a way that feels true to myself."

She has consistently  garnered acclaim from fans, critics and fellow musicians alike. Her single “Ghost Town Blues”’ was playlisted by BBC Radio 2, where fans include Bob Harris OBE, whilst “The Waiting Game”, became Robert Elms’ favourite track of the year on his BBC Radio London Show (“Absolutely monumental”). Rave press reviews included Q, Uncut “Her voice is potent and the emotional directness of her songs is estimable” and RNR Magazine “Lauren Housley’s blend of material is both thrilling and tender, propelled by a voice that stirs and soothes”. Music journalist and broadcaster Paul Sexton sums it up with: “What I love about Lauren’s voice, and the music she makes with her stellar band, is that she brings such pure, spontaneous soulfulness to everything she touches. Both on record and on stage, she’s the real deal. Live, Housley was invited to perform at the 02 Arena in London as part of Bluesfest, alongside some of the artists that have inspired her, including Van Morrison & Tedeschi Trucks Band. As well as opening for Vintage Trouble, Jack Savoretti and Van Morrison, Lauren has also performed with some of her favourite female contemporaries including Yola and Klara Soderberg (First Aid Kit).

    BELLE ROSCOE

    GUEST LISYT FULL | Doors 18:45 | Live 19:15 | Finish 10:45

    BELLE ROSCOE | Saturday 31 May 2025

Siblings Matty and Julia Gurry are Belle Roscoe -  A disruptive band, that don’t seem to be able to follow the traditional music industry rules. They admit their social media game is sub-par, they don’t like writing songs under 4mins, they have no musical training, they are highly political (in the rock n roll sense as opposed to PC) and prefer to ask for forgiveness than permission and release music at their own pleasure… Music that is laced with glorious 70’s folk/rock undertones that not only showcases their musicianship and songwriting but those shines a light on those unmistakable soaring sibling harmonies.

Seeing Julia and Matty back in live action in London recently was a reminder of what a cool combo Belle Roscoe are. Their new material is the best they’ve ever sounded.”

    Paul Sexton, BBC

Brother-Sister duo, Matty and Jules radiate a unique and mesmerising chemistry, clearly the product of a lifetimes worth of shared experiences. Both siblings’ possess extraordinary vocals and sure know how to work a crowd. Multi-talented musicians, with a wealth of great material they’re one of the most captivating acts to see this year."
Tours & Times, Belle Roscoe @ The Troubadour

"It’s rare that every song on an album is single material, but Belle Roscoe have come pretty damn close.”
    Daniel Cribb, The Music

    EVE SELIS

    Doors 18:30 | Live 19:00 | Finish 10:45

    EVE SELIS | SATURDAY 19 JULY 2025

Eve Selis, a dynamic singer-songwriter from San Diego, California, has spent over three decades captivating audiences worldwide with her powerful voice and evocative storytelling. Known for blending Americana with rich Singer-Songwriter influences, Eve’s deeply personal lyrics and soulful melodies strike a chord with listeners, providing comfort, hope, and inspiration.

Music has been part of Eve’s life since childhood. Growing up in a large family, her passion was ignited by her first record, Jesus Christ Superstar. Over the years, she toured extensively, performing for troops overseas and sharing stages with many notable artists. However, her life took a tragic turn when her beloved brother, Pete, took the lives of others before ending his own, leaving Eve to confront unimaginable grief. This event plunged her into deep despair, but her faith and music became the lifeline that helped her find her way back to healing.

Her latest album, Dark Sky Blue, released on April 12, 2024, is a reflection of that journey from darkness to light. Each song wrestles with grief, redemption, and forgiveness, culminating in the emotional final track, "Somebody’s Brother," which captures the complexity of loving someone who has committed the unforgivable. Eve’s music became an outlet for processing her pain, and in sharing her story, she has discovered the profound healing that comes from vulnerability. Through her music, she fosters compassion and reminds us that, under certain circumstances, we are all capable of darkness—but also of redemption.

With Dark Sky Blue and her previous album, See Me With Your Heart, Eve continues to create music that serves as a vessel for emotional and spiritual healing. Her journey through loss, self-discovery, and resilience is woven into every note, offering not only a connection to her personal story but a pathway for others to heal through their own. Eve Selis’ powerful vocals, poignant storytelling, and steadfast dedication to her craft inspire and uplift, reminding us that even in life’s darkest moments, love and hope can still prevail.

    FLORENCE SOMMERVILLE

    Doors 18:30 | Live 19:00 | Finish 10:45

    FLORENCE SOMMERVILLE | Saturday 19 July 2025

Florence Sommerville, a 20-year-old singer-songwriter from the small village of Orsett, Essex, is one of the UK’s fastest-rising Americana-country performers. Since releasing her self-penned debut single, the aptly-titled On My Way, to widespread radio play in October 2023, Florence has gone from strength to strength. In the UK she’s supported American singer-songwriter Diana Jones, Australian singer Ange Boxall, 1980s pop star Tom Robinson, New York singer-songwriter Annie Keating, Americana band the Track Dogs, Hannah Aldridge, Dan Owen and the Hanging Stars as well as playing both Maverick and Latitude Festivals and selling out her own headline shows in London, Brentwood, Ashford, and Canterbury.

During three visits to Nashville, she co-written songs with such hit songwriters as Gary Burr, Jan Buckingham, Sally Barris and others and also performed at Songwriter Rounds at the Commodore Grille, the Cambria Hotel and the iconic Bluebird Café, where she gained a standing ovation and at last year’s AMA Week where she was chosen by No Depression as one of the 60 best performers. Earlier this year she released (I’ll Be Your) Best Broken Heart and California, the first two singles from her forthcoming debut album set for release in mid-July. During her April trip to Nashville she co-wrote a song with Eve Selis, which they intend to perform together during their shows together in July.

There’s a raw rootsy quality to Florence’s music that belies her youthfulness. An assured performer, she takes total command of any stage from the outset and allows her crystalline vocals to shine on her well-crafted original songs. She doesn't arrive as the next ready-made country star beauty figure Barbie doll. There is an unquestionable realness about the way Florence makes sense of life through her music. But she exhibits a surety of mind beyond her years, to create music that connects and inspires, and that will inflame a growing fire.

    ANGEL SNOW

    GUEST LIST FULL Doors 18:45 | Live 19:15 | Finish 10:45

ANGEL SNOW Saturday 11 October 2025 | Delighted to welcome ANGEL back to LRB with Joe Wilkins (Elles Bailey) on guitar. Quote from American Songwriter “Her songs, which were played to perfection by her all-acoustic band, have an air of magic to them — at times sounding like Gillian Welch mixed with Sarah Mclachlan; other times, like an Appalachian Fiona Apple or Jeff Buckley…Watching Snow on this night, on the famed Ryman stage, it felt like a star was born.”

Angel Snow has just completed a successful 14-date UK tour promoting her most recent release - a Tom Waits tribute album titled Yesterday Is Here. Snow's catalogue spans four full-length records over the course of 15 years and eludes quick and easy categorization. Her early career was defined by a handful of Alison Krauss cuts on Union Station’s multi-grammy winning album Paper Airplane which led to a critically acclaimed self-titled debut produced by Alison's brother, bassist Viktor Krauss. Resisting all attempts to pigeonhole her style as "Americana," Snow leaned heavily on her early teenaged electronic influences for her sophomore effort, choosing to work with UK-based producer Lee Groves (Trent Reznor). The result was Magnetic - a collection of lush, ambient, electronic-driven songs that landed her a record deal with indie powerhouse Nettwerk Records. Magnetic would go on to receive critical praise worldwide and deliver the viral underground hit "Secret."

Snow remained with Nettwerk for two follow-up EPs Arrows and Arrows (Stripped), produced by Ben Cramer, aka Old Sea Brigade. Once again, Arrows delivered an under-the-radar indie viral hit after the K-pop phenom boy band BTS singer "V" included the song "Hotel Rosario" on his personal Spotify Favorites playlist, which notably only contained five songs.

With the music industry grinding to a halt in 2020, Snow continued focusing on writing, turning to Los Angeles producer Jonathan Stein (aka Charles Jacques) for her next full-length album Low. With Stein at the helm, Snow delivered a Covid-inspired collection of songs heavily weighted by the themes of loss, claustrophobia, and re-imagined trauma. Most notable is Snow's starkly beautiful cover of Peter Gabriel's ominous environmentalist warnings in "Here Comes the Flood." Snow chose the song as a metaphor for the emotional surge arising when faced with intense loss. The entire record is punctuated by Stein's virtuosic skills as a multi-instrumentalist.

Snow's entire catalogue viewed as a whole puts her in good company, easily comparable to such artists as Leonard Cohen, Nick Drake, and Peter Gabriel. It's with this theme in mind that Angel's newest project came into existence.

Yesterday Is Here is a 10-song tribute to Tom Waits, produced by Nashville-based Charlie Lowell (Jars of Clay). This album finds Snow at what is perhaps her most vulnerable, choosing to cover some of Waits's more emotional songs, including "Take it With Me," "Time," and "Hold On," to name just a few. Yesterday Is Here was released on March 16, 2023 via Tone Tree Music.
