Jess and the Bandits | Honey Ryder | Lisa Wright
GUEST LIST FULL Doors 7:00pm Live 7:30pm2015 was a huge year for Jess and the Bandits. Big voiced Texan Jessica Clemmons and her posse of top players aptly called The Bandits took the big Country 2 Country festival by storm filling out the Brooklyn Bowl stage on both days. Their long awaited debut album 'Here we go again' came out in March and made a big impact in the charts with national airplay, tv and big festival performances. We are more than thrilled to host JATB on our 2016 opener. Expect diversity of musical style from full on Texan country pop, heartfelt ballads and a big dollop of rock-and-roll.
2015 was a big year for Honey Ryder. A busy festival season included appearances at C2C at the O2, The Isle Of Wight Festival and Weyfest and on July 16th they were invited to Radio 2 to perform a live acoustic session for Bob Harris Country. The band were nominated for 3 awards at The British Country Music Awards and performed at the event in October 2015.
2016 promises even more....having firmly established themselves within the inner circle of Nashville’s elite, UK trio Honey Ryder return to spearhead the British country crossover invasion with their 3rd studio album, ‘Born In A Bottle’.
Featuring co-writes with Tom Douglas [Lady Antebellum ‘I Run To You’], Rivers Rutherford [Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Brad Paisley] and Blair Daly [Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban], the trio headed back to Ocean Way Nashville for the bulk of the recording, and were mentored by legendary producer Paul Worley [Lady Antebellum, Dixie Chicks].
Already selected for the BBC Radio 2 playlist the week after Christmas we wish them big success and can't wait to welcome them to LRB
2015 has been a somewhat breakthrough year for Lisa Wright.
In February, she joined the development of a new country musical: Eye of the Storm, working with Amy Wadge (co-writer of Ed Sheeran’s No.1 ‘Thinking Out Loud’). As a lifelong country music fan, to Lisa, this was a dream come true. Working with one of the UK finest songwriters and being surrounded by country music got Lisa inspired.
After throwing caution to the wind, she flew 4000 miles to Nashville to work with some of Music City’s top producers on her debut EP, Before I Die. Always remaining true to her London roots, Lisa was adamant to create an EP that highlighted her British musical upbringing and combined it with the raw storytelling heart of country music.
She did just that.
After release, Before I Die, entered into the iTunes country charts at No.4 – making Lisa the only UK, independent artist in the Top 20. Since then her tracks have featured heavily on country radio, as well as the BBC. In October 2015, Nashville Songwriters Association recognized Lisa as “One to Watch” and she has recently been nominated for UK EP of the Year 2015 by w21music.

Christina Martin | Sasha McVeigh w Loveless Effect | American Young
GUEST LIST FULL Doors 7:00pm Live 7:30pmChristina Martin
Christina will be accompanied by Dale Murray on guitar
Martin’s musical journey since her first release in 2002 has led to extended stays in Austin, Texas, as well as Germany, from where she has cultivated a substantial following across mainland Europe. Along the way, she has earned multiple East Coast, and Music Nova Scotia Award nominations, had songs placed in television programs, and even performed for Queen Elizabeth II in Ottawa.
2015 was a big year, seeing the release of ‘It’ll be Alright’ voted by CBC Music in the top four favourite albums from the East Coast and the single ‘You Ran from Me’ is the #14 of the most played Canadian songs on Sonica for 2015
Martin’s songs trade in a certain familiarity, enhanced by her smoky voice that seems to pull its phrases from the musical ether; you swear you’ve heard her songs before, even if they’re brand new
It’ll Be Alright will find a home with fans of Fleetwood Mac, Melissa Etheridge and The Hold Steady…With tales of love lost, anxiety and small town desperation running throughout, this is storytelling at its finest
“Anyone who has yet to experience her music is missing out.” Sarah Waspe, Grapevine Live
Sasha McVeigh, Female Country Vocalist of the Year 2015, with band Loveless Effect.
In the summer of 2014, Seth Loveless was invited to play lead guitar for British, award-winning, singer/songwriter Sasha McVeigh when she performed on the main stage at Country Jam USA in Wisconsin. As a result, when Sasha embarked on a headline tour of the United Kingdom in September 2015, she asked Loveless Effect to join her as her backing band, in addition to them having an opening slot on the entirety of the tour. They played to sold-out audiences across the UK, building a strong fan base across the pond and testing the waters as touring musicians.
Since returning to the US, Loveless Effect have been touring across the country with Sasha McVeigh, performing in Atlanta, Nashville and Los Angeles as well as on the main stage at the Deadwood Mountain Grand in Deadwood, SD during the prestigious Wild West Songwriter’s Festival.
The future is looking incredibly bright for the Arizona-based band who are currently writing material for their second album and are slated to embark on a tour of Europe, the US and Canada with Sasha McVeigh in 2016American Young. It’s more than a name. It’s a movement. A passion for music and more importantly it’s meaning. As artists, songsmiths, producers, and entertainers, Jon Stone and Kristy Osmunson define American Young this way. They are seasoned veterans on how music can inherently affect emotion and even culture. The collaborative fresh new duo already claim songwriting credits for hit makers Kenny Chesney, Lee Brice, Rascal Flatts, Blake Shelton and more. Recording and writing comes from a deep, poignant place with a desire to affect global audiences with songs featuring tight harmonies and storytelling. “American Young represents a sound with no boundaries. We are squarely focused on delivering our own brand of music and hope that folks will find our songs everything from haunting to dramatic and intense”, says Jon.
This evening is expected to fill up quickly. We are suggesting a £15 artist donation.

The music we created together, vibrant and full of energy, encapsulates all that she is.” -John Carter Cash (Producer, owner Cash Cabin Studios)
Don Gallardo Saturday 07th May 2016. Don was a stand out performer at last year's Maverick Festival. Just look at the quality of the reviews below:
4 of 5 Stars “Nashville Singer-songwriter continues Country’s regeneration. Gallardo nods to country’s most distant past while sounding like its very near future.” -MOJO Magazine
“Comparisons have been made between East Nashville's music scene and a Sixties Greenwich Village…In the end, however, much of East Nashville's musical core is happy about the attention — offering praise in particular to ABC's Nashville for how it allows artists to have yet another income stream in an increasingly tough market….Don Gallardo, another local artist who has seen the show help build him a solid following overseas, agrees. "Nashville was only acting on what was going on at the time and still is….it really has done a lot for me and my friends." says Gallardo, currently touring the new album Hickory.” - ROLLING STONE
One of “Best Country Music Albums of 2015” with the likes of Gretchen Peters, Justin Townes Earle, Jason Isbell, Patty Griffin, Kasey Musgraves, Willie & Merle, Chris Stapleton & more - The Telegraph
4 of 5 Stars “Gallardo is the real deal” - Maverick Magazine
“I’m really enjoying the record” - Bob Harris Country
Raised in a small town in Northern California, where he spent years building his songwriting career on the west coast before relocating to Nashville in 2007. Now based in Nashville, Tennessee, he walks the line between folk, Americana and roots-rock, mining the influence of classic 1970s singer-songwriters while creating a sound that nods to the past while still pushing ahead toward something new.
With four full-length albums, a live acoustic release, and an EP under his belt, Gallardo has earned a broad audience on both sides of the Atlantic. A road warrior who frequently tours the U.K., he's also earned high marks from outlets like Rolling Stone, AmericanaUK, and The Nashville Scene, the latter of which described his music as "country-rock with brains, charm and experimental impulses that are perfectly integrated into a familiar context." No Depression offered similar praise, calling Gallardo a "rare gem" whose work is "highly recommended to fans of great songwriters."
Released in 2015 by the U.K.-based indie label Clubhouse Records, Gallardo's newest album, Hickory, received a four-star rating from MOJO Magazine and was mentioned in Rolling Stone. The project paired Gallardo with producer David Pinkston (Linda Ronstadt, Marshall Tucker Band) and a handful of A-list sidemen, including Mickey Raphael (Willie Nelson), Rob Ickes (Merle Haggard), Randall Bramblett (Bonnie Raitt), Guthrie Trapp (Alison Krauss) Micah Hulscher (Emmylou Harris) and Brad Pemberton (Ryan Adams). Inspired by everything from Gallardo's California upbringing to his time in the American Bible Belt, Hickory was named one of 2015's best country albums by The Telegraph, proof that Gallardo's career has truly gone global.
In addition to catching one of his live shows, fans can hear Gallardo's music prominently featured in films like "Jolene" and Jackass Presents "Bad Grandpa," as well as the television series "The Vampire Diaries" and ABC's "Nashville."We are thrilled to host this evening with these amazing world stage artists from the US

Anne McCue | Belle Roscoe
GUEST LIST FULL Doors 7:00pm Music 7:30pmBelle Roscoe open this very special LRB evening featuring international artist Anne McCue.
We've been big fans of guitarist/singer/songwriter Anne McCue for many years so we are more than thrilled to be able to welcome her back to the UK for a return visit.
McCue's first solo album, Amazing Ordinary Things, was released in 1999 in Canada and Japan. A US tour with Lucinda Williams followed... "my new favorite artist... and an amazing guitarist".
“Initially, her stunning voice hooked me in. Then I got inside the songs. The first chance I got, I went to see her perform . . . I was floored!” Lucinda Williams
Anne McCue filmed and interviewed by Sam Millar for The UK Americana Bar
Her 2004 album Roll received numerous accolades. Bob Harris named it his album of the year.
2006 album Koala Motel, one of my personal favourites, features a co-write with LRB friend Janet Robin on the opening track ' Driving Down Alvarado'
Anne continues to pick up international awards and accolades with songs that stretch from urgent to world-weary with bracing bluntness. She is a potent singer, thoughtful songwriter and tough guitarist.
Her 6th studio album - Blue Sky Thinkin' is imminent. The album reunites the band from her critically acclaimed 'Roll' album and allows Anne to explore some of her favourite influences, including Billy Holiday, Charlie Christian, Howlin' Wolf, Memphis Minnie, Astor Piazzola, Peggy Lee, Irving Berlin, Django Reinhardt, Hoagy Carmichael, Bessie Smith...
“I’ve been a fan of guitarist/singer/songwriter Annie McCue for many years so I’m very honored and happy about singing with her on a damn fine song… You can’t go wrong with such talent.” Dave Alvin
“I had done some gigs with Annie McCue out in California and thought that besides her phenomenal playing and great songs she had a unique presence. She has an angelic quality to her but also a Charlie Chaplin-esque vibe. Fearless and tender and alluring.” David Olney
BELLE ROSCOE with their new wave indie rock sound this independent and international band, hailing from Melbourne, Australia has been building a solid underground buzz in Europe and Australia. Led by siblings Matty & Julia Gurry, Belle Roscoe spent time in Europe defining their sound & collaborating with European musicians and renowned DJ producer Luuk Cox (Shameboy, Girls in Hawaii, Stromae, & MLCD). The band have recently worked with legendary US producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, The Shins, Paper Kites). Refreshingly cool & epic indie melodies married with an underground contemporary electronic world are the result.
Belle Roscoe are the first Australian band in history to be invited to close Cannes Film Festival playing to an audience of 45,000.
Recently back from Nashville where they teamed up with Anne McCue’s band to perform a number of prestigious shows.

Lauren Housley w full band | Megan O'Neill & The Common Threads
GUEST LIST FULL: Saturday 03 September 2016. Doors 7:00 pm Live 7:30pmSaturday 03 September 2016. As if you needed reminding what a fine artist Lauren Housley is and this third visit she has the band on the tour bus!
Lauren Housley’s brand of Americana blurs the lines between rock and soul through to country and blues. Her music is genre defying, and will appeal to all.
Q Magazine 09/15
“An Americana-tinged singer-songwriter with a Bonnie Raitt-style twang, a winning way with a yearning lyrics. Housley is her own woman and when she turns glacially emotional on When Autumn Came, she’s as convincing as they come…. Sweet Surrender (album) smoulders.”
Blues and Soul Magazine, 08/15
“With “Sweet Surrender” Lauren Housley proves that she has the potential to create music that crosses the genre boundaries of Soul, Blues and Country while being appreciated by mainstream audiences and all the demographics in between. 8/10
Megan O'Neill & The Common Threads.
Megan’s music is a fresh mix of modern country and pop, with a fusion of distinctly Irish elements making for a very unique sound. Currently based in London, Megan has written with many notable Nashville writers such as Marc Beeson, Billy Austin, John Edwards, Brian Maher, Erik Halbig, Bruce Bouton, Mark Narmore and countless others. She returns to Music City as often as possible and indeed her most recent visit was just a few weeks ago.

KELLEY McRAE | ILONA | Double Headline
**GUEST LIST FULL**ILONA | KELLEY MCRAE w MATT CASTELEIN
Double Headline
In 2011, Folk/Americana duo Kelley McRae traded their New York apartment for a VW van and hit the road full time. Touring extensively in America and Europe over the next few years led to the creation of Kelley's latest release, The Wayside.
The Wayside, McRae says, “is the place at the side of the road where things get left behind, or where you go to rest awhile, or where you go find something you lost along the way.” McRae’s songs sip life from the tension between holding on and letting go, blooming in their rich search for truths.
The record was released in April of 2016 with a sold out release show at the famous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN, and it has been quick to impress critics: “With hundreds of new releases each year, there are maybe ten or twenty magical moments. The Wayside is one of those moments.” – Mike Penard, Radio France, “McRae is the real deal, bringing some rare depth to the newschool Americana genre.” – New York Music Daily
The Wayside debuted at #7 on the EuroAmericana radio charts and hit #4 on the Roots Music Report Top 50 Contemporary Folk Album chart alongside names like Patty Griffin and Darrell Scott. Kelley is touring the UK this Fall in support of the new record.
“The last songs that made me cry were by a young New York singer, Kelley McRae.” – acclaimed filmmaker Wim Wenders to the San Francisco Chronicle
Reviews for ‘The Wayside’:
“Kelley moves effortlessly from the mournful tones of the plantation to the celebratory swing of the saloon, from songs of loss and decay to hymns of love and grace.” – Paste Magazine FOUR STAR Review
