MORGANWAY | DAN RAZA | SATURDAY 12 MARCH 2022
GUEST LIST FULL | Doors 19:00 | Live 19:30 | Finish 10:45MORGANWAY
Striking six-part harmonies, energetic rhythms, catchy songs and a fiercely formidable live act – Morganway have made quite the impression on the UK’s rising Americana scene. Part country, part rock, with sprinklings of folk and something else entirely, it’s not easy categorising the band’s “delightfully unconventional sound” (Desperately Lost City).
Founded by twin brothers Callum and Kieran Morgan, the shared lead vocals of Callum and SJ Mortimer, along with the band’s love of ‘70s west coast rock, has drawn comparisons to Fleetwood Mac. SJ’s powerhouse voice is at the centre, part-angel, part-banshee, while Nicole Terry’s stomping fiddle creates darker, folkier undercurrents coupled with Kieran’s distinctive guitar sound. Matt Brocklehurst (keys) and 'Steady' Eddy (drums) complete the lineup.
They released their self-titled debut album in August 2019 to widespread acclaim. With a summer of festivals including Glastonbury, Black Deer and Millport Country festival, sell-out shows in London, a national tour with CC Smugglers and a British Country Music Award Nomination for UK Band of the Year; Morganway have caught the attention of Whispering Bob, and were described by Maverick Magazine as “One of the best and most exciting prospects to emerge in a long time.”
The unforeseeable Coronavirus pandemic saw the band take a step away from the live scene to focus on writing. Now with new music and shows on the horizon, 2021 promises to be the next exciting chapter for Morganway.

Press Quotes
“One of the best and most exciting prospects to emerge in a long time” – Maverick Magazine
“Takes the breath away” – RnR Magazine
“A real one to watch” – Belwood Music
Anyone fortunate enough to have been in the audience when LRB hosted the band back in September 2019 will know what a truly awesome experience Morganway are live.
Paul Carr, revPACman, picked Frozen in Our Time, filmed and recorded live at Little Rabbit Barn last September as his top song of 2019. Paul wrote "Frozen in Our Time is an instant classic, has an anthemic mystery attached to it and is such a mature song for a young band, S.J. Mortimer's vocal are sensational too!"
Here is the video of the award winning song and performance.
"This band are truly something special and surely destined for much bigger, they generate such electricity and atmosphere and tonight was
an absolute pleasure to watch.”
Chris Farlie (W21 Music, Buckle & Boots 2018 review)"Heralding euphoric choruses and electric riffs Fleetwood Mac and The Strokes, the harmonies of icons ELO meeting The Magic Numbers somewhere along the way, and the modern female vocal of Haim, Morganway are quite the tour de force soup, but let’s be frank here: this Norfolk outfit doesn’t sound like anyone else."
- Never Enough NotesDAN RAZA | Saturday 12 March 2022

KARA GRAINGER | HANNAH ALDRIDGE
Doors 19:00 | Live 19:30 | Finish 10:45KARA GRAINGER with FULL TOURING BAND | Saturday 02 July 2022
Her music career began in a small suburban town of Sydney Australia and since then has taken her on an incredible journey throughout the globe. Combining tasteful blues and slide guitar, soulful vocals and a heartfelt approach to songwriting, Kara's truly unique sound will leave you uplifted, inspired and always wanting more.
At the age of 16 Kara joined with her brother Mitch Grainger to form the band "Papa Lips". The band toured consistently throughout Australia and produced two studio albums that received national air play.
The band was heavily influenced by the sounds of Stax recording in Memphis, and by the Funky style of blues and soul that derived from New Orleans.
In 2008 Kara signed to Australian label "Craving Records" and was invited to the US by producer David Kalish where she recorded her debut solo album. The recording entitled "Grand and Green River" received critical acclaim and remained in the top 30 of the Americana Charts for 38 straight weeks.
Since then Kara has made three further albums whilst residing in the US. In 2011 "LA Blues" was recorded live at Studio City Sound. The cd paid tribute to some of Kara's earliest blues inspirations and in 2013 kara recorded and released"Shiver and Sigh" through Los Angeles record label "Eclecto Groove." The album was produced by grammy award winning producer David Z with some of LA's finest musicians, including Mike Finnigan, Hutch Hutchinson, James Gadson and Kirk Fletcher among others.
One of Kara’s touring highlights was performing in North east India for the Himalayan Blues Foundation. Her performance at the "18 degrees cultural Festival" introduced the local community to roots and blues music for the very first time.
She has traveled to Indonesia several times to perform at the the Jakarta International Blues Festival, performing together with her US band and also as a special guest with "The Jakarta all Women Blues Review".
In 2011 she toured Japan openning the show for "The Swampers and Donnie Fritts", the infamous house Rhythm section for "Fame Recordings" in Muscle Shoals…She has taken her band to Switzerland where she performed at the "Sierre Blues Festival" as well as "Lucerne". The band has also toured in Belgium, Germany, France, Luxembourg and Spain..
In 2015 Kara performed at the "Beautiful swamp Festival" in Calais France and also to sell out crowds on her debut tour of the Uk. Another highlight was perfoming at "Ronnie Scotts", Londons premier blues and jazz venue.
In the US Kara has performed at several Festivals such as 'The Portland Waterfront Blues Festival', 'Blues from the Top' in Colorado and "Austin City Limits". She has also opened the show for many extraordinary acts such as Peter Frampton, Buddy Guy,Taj Mahal and Jonny Lang, to name a few.
HANNAH ALDRIDGE
Hannah Aldridge is the daughter of Muscle Shoals legend Walt Aldridge. An Alabama Music Hall of Famer, Walt Aldridge is a prolific and decorated songwriter of countless Number One and Top Ten hits recorded by the likes of Lou Reed, Reba McEntire, Travis Tritt, Earl Thomas Conley, Ricky Van Shelton, Ronnie Milsap, and Conway Twitty.
Mixing her personal life and the sounds of her hometown, Hannah Aldridge’s new album also draws in influences from across the rock genre. Working with people with one foot in country music and one foot in rock, Hannah Aldridge makes a fresh kind of Southern Rock styled by Southern Gothic storytelling.
Recorded at Creative Workshop in Nashville, Hannah Aldridge worked with Muscle Shoals writers such as Mark Narramore, Tosha Hill, Matt Johnson and Brad Crisler and artists such as Andrew Combs, Ashley McBryde, Don Gallardo, Ryan Beaver, and Sadler Vaden on “Gold Rush.” She teamed up with Jordan Dean and M. Allen Parker, who were instrumental in working on her new album, and finally finishing by calling on her Dad, Walt Aldridge, to master the record. In total, Hannah Aldridge compiled a team of distinct talents to work with her. With their help, Hannah Aldridge has put together a progressive, creative and memorable body of work.
“It’s about being self destructive,” Aldridge said of her new album. “That is the underlying tone. The album goes back to when I was younger, and after touching on that, to now. In ‘Aftermath,’ the very first line is: ‘I was born in a crossfire.’ It starts from day one.”

Winner of The Young Artist of the Year Award in the 2020 and 2021 UK Blues Awards, the young bandleader-guitarist-vocalist draws on influences as diverse as B.B. King, Ray Charles, Free and Nick Drake, creating a soulful blend of hard-hitting blues and emotional, introspective song writing, which, at times, evokes a modern take on the best of the British blues boom of the 1960’s.
Connor has recently recorded a self-titled album at Masterlink studios, due for release later this year, featuring 'Redtenbacher's Funkestra', a house band of world class musicians with a CV's to prove it (think Elton John, David Bowie, Annie Lennox, Jack Bruce etc). This release should further cement Connor's reputation as one of our brightest young talents; a talent who has already garnered invitations to tour with not only with legendary Bluesman John Mayall but also a UK stadium tour with the aforementioned The Who.Emerging artist Jenny Colquitt encompasses a unique combination of Americana, indie and folk rock and pop. Winner of the 2021/2022 FATEA 'Female artist of the Year' award and the 2020/2021 GSMC Award for best female solo singer/songwriter.
Jenny's music is described as fit for film and storytelling at its finest. A voice that uniquely combines the melodic undertones of artists such as Eva Cassidy and the rawness of Alanis Morissette. She writes with soul, lyrical vulnerability and style to accompany her musicality both through keys and guitar. Jenny is the lead singer/songwriter of Americana Rock band ELY, another emerging act on the British music scene.
Jenny's debut album 'Something Beautiful' was released on the 26th November 2021. Described as 'very much recommended, for her strong and expressive voice, impactful lyrics and winning melodies' by BBC Radio 2's Paul Sexton.

ALAN CACKETT quotes...
"One of the most inventive songwriters of her generation, Tamara Stewart’s smart, thoughtful songwriting has been knocking the wind out of listeners since she first came on the scene some 20 years ago. She has long been regarded as one of Australia’s finest musical exports. With multiple number ones to her name in her own releases, Tamara is also the pen behind many of her peer’s musical successes, enjoying multiple chart-topping hits and album cuts on some of Australian Country Music’s most successful artists.
On stage she is a riveting, intense, spring-loaded presence able to impress equally with heartfelt story ballads and up-tempo funky workouts. Her distinctive, somewhat sultry voice is full of a natural, soulful edge that is immediately disarming. More often than not she draws from personal experience and her childhood for her tales of the joys and drama of everyday life. I urge you to try and catch Tamara Stewart on one of her UK dates and also to seek out her music, I can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed."
